    Thank you for your help, I don't know a lot about plants but I also thought it was a Campanula

    It's a prolific self-sower so the seed could have landed in the pot before or after you bought it.  Is the osteospermum still alive?
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Yes,  they are both in a pot, the Osteo i have taken some cuttings.
