Strange poo!

A couple of days ago I found something that looked like bird poo. Today I found this dark worm like poo on top of it by my kitchen door.

I have a cat that lives outdoors and I would want it to hurt or be hurt by whichever animal this may be.

Anyone know what it is?

I really hope it is, apparently they've been gone for a couple of years around here. I was considering making a hole in our fence so they can come in and buying a hedgehog house, just hoping they would return to the neighbourhood.

Thank you for your reply. I hope you're right :)

So do l ! Make the hole in your fence anyway, you have nothing to lose, and if you want to, you could put out some dry cat biscuits and a dish of water (saves forking out on dog food until you're sure).

    I think it is too.
Just the other day I found a larger than usual "pile", it looked like yours.
Normally it is more single shorter lengths.
But I think with the rain possibly they eat more natural things over our dry food.
We don't get foxes in our back garden and it is not cat, so I feel pretty confident it is hogs.
Edited because you said on top of bird poop, so it may be smaller than I thought sorry.
Some bird poops do look like that.
Bird poop with moslty flush away and break up with a hose directed at it. But hog poop tends to be ... um a bit sticky/solid.
    Sorry too much information.

Check out AnniD other posts there are some hedgehog topics  and long running threads that her and other hog enthusiasts post. that will help you.

Welcome to the forum and good luck attracting hedgehogs.

Thank you guys so much for your tips I will definitely follow the advice. My daughter will be thrilled if a hedgehog decided to come over for a treat. Hole in the fence? Done. Cat biscuits and house? Done! If I ever see it and am able to take a pic I will definitely post it here.

    Ever so thankful,
