Leggy Rhododendron

I have a Rhododendron - Brigitte, which I bought about 5 years ago. It flowers every year, but is very leggy, see photo. It is only about 1 metre high and wide.
What can I do to get it to fill out?

The only way to get it bushy again is to cut back hard right back to the middle section. You will very likely lose next year flowers sometimes you can get the odd late flower , it will be back to normal the year after.

Looking at what's growing well either side of it, I'd also suggest it's not in the best site either. They're woodland plants, and prefer some damp and shade.
You can cut it back and move it to a better site, but if you don't want to do that, cut it back and then make sure it's well watered and mulched to prevent it dehydrating  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
