As a first time grower with no experience could you answer this for me. Are my golden beetroot bolting? The leaves are getting pretty long , so should I plnch the tops off to encourage root growth or leave alone or are they beyond repair?
Thanks for any help you can give.🙂

Yes I think they’re bolting. I’d take them up and use them now, even if they’re very small.

I did wonder. I dont seem to have much luck with root crops.

Are you growing them in gravel?

No just have heavy soil so added gravel and compost to lighten it.

Compost is good but gravel is not good for root crops.
