Blackthorn hedge issues

See photos for the problem in my mixed hedge. Blackthorn is suffering from I know not what? Any ideas please on the diagnosis and treatment.

Massive infestation of aphids. Find some ladybirds to eat them.
Or, if you must, spray with a bee friendly insecticide.
