Moving plants in border

Is it too late to move plants around. I planted a phlox in the wrong position and it’s getting too tall. I was thinking of swapping it with a rose I have in a pot or with the wall flower behind.

To be honest I’d leave it where it is for now ... that wallflower will soon be over and the phlox will hide it as it dies off.

I like having the occasional taller plant near the front of the border ... it breaks up the regularity and gives the planting a bit of dynamism ... all the ‘best’ designers do it  B)

You can split it and move it about when it’s finished flowering or next spring when it’s just appearing above the soil again 😊

  • Thanks. Didn’t want to shift it as the border has filled out enough to keep the cats off.
