Ladies I now have an image in my head of you both mooching around a garden with a chive hanging out of your mouths... sort of magic roundabout cow style (can’t remember the characters name!). Quite unexpected.

    Brilliant, wasn't  it?  :)
I always wondered if Dylan the rabbit was based on Dylan too. The right time for a hippy, spaced out character  :D

Apparently they were all based on different drugs! Explains some of the spaced out dialogue.

In the UK, the series gained cult status among some adults during the mid-to-late 1960s because it was seen as having psychedelic connotations (e.g. Dylan was believed to be high on cannabis and Dougal was thought to be on LSD because of his fondness for sugar lumps, while Zebedee – who was so jumpy – was thought to be on amphetamines).

Found this his on wiki.... had no idea it was originally from France.

The narrator of Magic Roundabout, Eric Thomson , was Emma Thomson's father. I believe he basically translated/altered the stories from the originals.

In the mid 80s, as well as my usual software development duties, I looked after 3 new Unix based computers - pre PC and Windows days - for a big project we were doing and had to allocate time, access, downtime for backups etc.   Too boring to call them by moel name so I christened the fastest Zebedee.  The second was dubbed Dylan and the last was slowest so was known as Brian...........  I became Florence for some reason.
