Any clues of what is eating my Canna Lillie's
Regally treat them with a bug treatment, but the instructions say only apply 2 or 3 times in 6 mths.

Looks like slug damage, the holes on the top left leaf give it away. When the canna sends a new leaf up in a spiral slugs sometimes eat through it causing the multiple holes in a row.

There’s no point in treating slugs with bug killer.

They don't always leave trails TW.  If they come out when it is damp, they don't need to produce the slime.  Try a beer trap which will attract any slugs and snails in the immediate area.

Lidl’s cheap lager goes down well here 😀. (For the slugs I mean)

Mine's a Theakstons please, very kind of you!  :D
Even yeast, sugar and water mixed together has the same effect (on the slugs, but not me!), if no amber nectar is available.

    Thanks all,
Going to try a deterrent method first, where as seen on GW boiling some Garlic cloves and mixing some of the boiled garlic water and water in a spray. Spraying once or more a week.
If that dont work, then its down the pub we go  :D

I have made my yeast based bait for the slugs and snails.

But read somewhere by using Yeast, this can attract slugs/snails from around your community as far as 200yds or so and not a good thing to use or beer.

Does that mean I would make our community slug/snail free in time  :)
