GARDENERS WORLD OFFER!

  • This offer depressed me when I saw it in print and it's even more so seeing people having total failure with the plugs. What a waste of resources and carbon to make those and to try to tempt people with just paying the postage. A great example of unsustainable gardening. The company should be ashamed of themselves for creating waste. And frankly hypocritical of the Magazine to promote it, at a time we should all be thinking about the environment a little bit harder.

    George,I agree

Certainly, on reflection, I can see from the image I posted that the tiny plugs were weak and not going to make it!I was just so happy to finally receive them!

I did contact Woolmans but it was ' sorry to hear this ' without any support or advice.

    Did anyone's plug plants survive?

I planted them in a pot in the hope they would grow eventually, but it's unlikely☹️
  • It's always disappointing when plugs fail...know the feeling @Dollystocks8 better luck with your next foray into lavender growing.

Thank you, I was so disappointed! Please note, I get great joy recycling and recently asked a nice neighbour if she would mind if I rescued her old plant pots from being thrown away and one of my favourite things is to nurture sad little plants into beautiful blooms! Sadly,I could not save the tiny lavender plugs!

I would be interested to find out if anyone's plugs were a success?

Mine were a success. All 40 arrived in good condition. I managed to sell 36 of them at our open garden plant sale for £1 each. Money donated to the upkeep of our local church and the Air Ambulance.

If mine had arrived looking as poorly as yours seem from the photo I'd have asked for my money back.

Yes, I should have I guess😟 Thought the least they could have done was send out another set but they didn't! Oh well, good to hear it worked out well for you! Keep up the good work!👍
