Is the first one some sort of poppy?leaves look a bit cabbage like Popping up in a bit of a dumping ground\work in progress😁

This is lovely with silvery leaves so presume it’s happy in dry conditions and full sun......

    Those poppies look exactly like my pink double ones, which I love because they're so blowsy and in-your face. You might hate them for the same reason.

    The poppies are papaver somniferum....opium poppies....and if you leave them after they have flowered, you will get the most wonderful seed pods. They look good stuffed in with other dried flowers for winter decoration. Also they self seed everywhere which is a bonus.

    Mine too, but the singles look pretty much the same at that stage. I have the pink pompom ones and darker plum-coloured singles, and I can never tell which is which until they  start to open.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Thank you thank you all,I love poppies so will definitely keep them,need to move them though.

    They won't like that. They are annuals and will probably just keel over and die if you move them. They should flower in a day or two but if they have to go, there are seeds available for lots of different colours of opium poppy so you could start again for next year. They seem to do best when the seeds are thrown over the garden in late summer, that way they get a head start.
