    I sow Summer King every year,  nice and short and stocky, very strong stems they don’t blow over or kink like the  wild ones.   Also sown Summer Nights and Summer Morning, all ready for next year.

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Just to update.
    Well I re-measured my kinked one under the strict supervision of my neighbour and it's exactly 8 foot and that's not including the 3 inch kink. My next two largest were 7ft 11 and 7ft 10. They're all about halfway through flowering now so are probably not going to grow any more but does that look like the best results for the season;

    Kerry_gleaves; 8 foot
    nultyphilip224; just passed the 8 Ft mark today
    dave125; 8 foot

    Luv from Dave

    Can anyone beat a 61" toadflax?  Tallest I've ever seen.  The blackbird was nicely posed on top of the fence but took off a split second too soon.

  • I have an 8ft 6 inch foxglove with multiple side shoots.measured by my so in law on a ladder

    Not a foxglove 😉 but a flippin’ tall teasel ... and still growing ...

    I shall have to send OH up a stepladder to measure that one ...

  • Oh Dove I love to grow teasels they are so easy but look architectural and the gold finches love the seed heads in the winter,

    I don’t know how tall this one is and I don’t think I’m going up a stepladder to find out.

    They are fantastic plants aren’t they ... I sometimes find OH out there just standing and staring at it 😊
