I don't fancy the title of that 2nd link, wcarlw You just have to keep on top of weeds, and try and prevent them encroaching on the plants you want to keep. You seem to have horsetail there as well, which is well nigh impossible to get rid of. If you keep hoeing it off and maybe put a good mulch down once the others have been killed off, that will help a bit. Once the pyracanthas spread a bit, it'll be easier, as they'll smother everything underneath quite well.

I have them every year coming from a neighbours and it's such a nuisance. I've got gravel behind my pond and it's travelled under the gravel and under the pond and came to the surface. That is about 10ft
