Plant ID please!

Hi, we've recently moved house and for the first time are proud owners of a lawn! In one corner of the lawn this plant is persistently growing. Can anyone help identify it and suggest how best to control it? Many thanks

Looks like japanese anemone

Definitely Japanese anemone. It is a bit of a thug and likes to spread itself about, but is easily removed , make sure you get all the root though.

It took two years but we got rid of them with some persistence!

They are a real pain to get rid of when you don't want them!
