PLANT IDENTIFICATION PLEASE

Hi, I’m trying to get to grips with this forum - as a newcomer.   I’d be grateful if anyone can tell me what this plant is please.   It appeared in the garden uninvited and my friend is desperate to know if it’s worth keeping.  She’s worried she might be harbouring a monster.

    That looks like burdock to me. Not a monster as such but generally regarded as a weed unless you're interested in harvesting the root.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    Thanks very much.  I’ll pass it on.  Something tells me it won’t be there for long as she’s just told me it’s full of blackfly.
