Also depends on what colours you like, what you have growing nearby, what your soil is like and how much space you have there.
Consider some large ferns too perhaps. My dryoptera easily reaches 1.2m or so.
If your soil is moist but free draining and you have the space, a New Zealand tree fern is spectacular.
If you have very wet shade but not free draining, then you may want to consider improving the soil with grit and well rotted manure, by digging it over, if that's an option, as not much will like boggy ground.
