Chelsea Chop - is it too late?

I was going to give my Hypericum (yellow flower/red berry) a Chelsea chop as it has so many shoots (no flowers yet), have I missed the time to do this?

    I don't think hypericums respond well to the Chelsea chop.

    Chelsea Chop is used for herbaceous plants, not for shrubs.

    O.K. thanks.  I have already done my Michaelmas Daisy and Sedum Ice Plant, I guess I just got thinking that the Hypericum looked a bit overwhelmed with so many young shoots. Thanks Papi Jo & Hostafan1
