Awesome! Dragonfly? I saw quite a large, what I suspect to be dragonfly hovering around our new pond for the first time yesterday - hopefully it will lay some eggs!

For those interested in watching dragonfly emergencies I made a little slideshow some years ago. At http://www.rezeau.org/wp-photo/cordulie-bronzee/

That’s a fantastic slideshow, thanks for sharing!
We had lots of dragonflies last year and the pond seemed especially attractive to Emperors, Hawkers and Broad bodied Chasers. I have followed their progress and so I’m gutted to have missed them emerge.. will keep checking..

Saw them emerge for the first time ever last week, amazing to watch.  Have been checking every day since, and only seen them come out at about 7-8am on a sunny day here, fly off around 11ish if that helps in your quest
