Mini basketball carrots

have been growing carrots with my daughter, but have forgotten when I planted them. How do I know when they are ready to pull up?

    Gently brush a bit of the soil away from the stems and you will see the top of the root (carrot) where it joins the leaf stems.  As this variety is ball-shaped, you can estimate the size from the top of the root you have just exposed.    It's your choice how big you want them to grow before pulling but the longer you wait, the larger they will grow.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Thanks for your reply. Have just looked and theyre about 2 cm across at the moment, just wondered how big they actually would grow to.
