Thanks, @Jellyfire, and I wasn't feeling admonished, just couldn't think what else I could do with the wood, and would be glad if someone had a better idea. I didn't know it could damage the stove and chimney, but I'm not really bothered if it does.
As for pallets, do you use Freecycle? People in my local group are often looking for pallets, often for purposes such as building compost bins or hedgehog houses, so maybe you can avoid the need to burn them.
That’s Fair enough, and no never thought of freecycle, good idea! I used them for the compost bins myself, and was looking for a while for enough, now have too many!
