Decking

Hi all, 

Can anyone advise the best thing I could do. We have a garden that is Lowe than the inside floors of the house and outside we have a raised decked area that is rotting. .the idea we want to get rid of the decking but what can we do to get down to garden on a zero budgef

    Hi Sallahrakha. Are you saying that  the decking is the only way out of your house and down to the garden? Do you own the property?

    I went into homebase the other day and this kid came up to me and asked me if I wanted decking, luckily enough I got in the first punch 😂😂 the old uns are the best

    That decking looks pretty good. Is the rot underneath? Can you show us a pic of the rotted area? 
  • Oh right, I thought it was rotten as by the stairs it's all falling apart. .Will take a pic and post. .But ideally as we have a dog I want to avoid decking as the pop gets stuck in the ridges... Wanted ideally to make a paved area where the decking is.. .so using railway sleepers and Indian sandstone but was told I would need more foundations and costs lots 

    Next best option is rip out the decking  as when it's wet it's a nightmare too and we have young kids. .. 
    But if I rip it out I need to get down to the garden lol

    Well you are gong to have to spend some money if you want to make the changes you want. Do you know what's under your decking? Maybe lots of rubble that you could use to redisgn your steps. It looks to me as though you have a lot of healthy material that you could recycle.
