Lupin aphids

Silly question but do Lupin aphids only attack lupins. Whilst helping a mate out her lupins where white with aphids and terribly sticky

Horrible things. I've never seen them on anything else.

I just run my hands up the flower spikes and brush them off ... only had to do it twice and now I’ve got beautiful flowering spikes 😊

My lupins were smothered with these for the first time this year. Never had them before. I just aimed the hosepipe at them and they haven’t appeared since but my flowers seem to be dying off earlier than usual ☹️

Yes, I had them for the first time this year, too. I have knocked them off with fingers and hosepipe a couple of times. They seem to be getting fewer. Flowers look a bit feeble, though...

3 of my Lupin plants were decimated by them this year......happy to see ladybirds on the remaining plants.  First time I've had to try to deal with them.....horrid things

They seem massive compared to the normal aphids

I get them every year and sadly have resorted now to spraying. I do it early before flowers and it works.

I tired just hosing them off but within days they are all back.
