Hortensia Primeur

i have just cut out a branch of my Hortensia. The leaves were curled and as you can see in the photo they had crispy and discolored edges. The remainder of the plant seems to be fine. What could this be and do I need to take any precautions to prevent this from happening to the rest of the plant, and potentially my other Hortentias.

Any indication of pests on your plant ?
Maybe the stem has been damaged at some stage , hence the wilting .

Didn’t see anything on the plant. I was a bit worried whether the discoloring on the leaf edges and the small black spots could have been the problem.
I have checked all 5 other plants and none of them have anything like this so hopefully it’s just a one off.
