Dwarf asters flowering in May

EmerionEmerion Posts: 599
I bought some dwarf asters 3 years ago and they have done very well. The seller said they would flower from August to October, but every year they have flowered from early May to mid-late June. I know it’s probably climate change, but this is a bit drastic, and it hasn’t varied despite the fact that the weather has been different from year to year. Has anyone else found that asters are no longer autumn bloomers? I am tempted to move them to where I need some colour in May, and look for something else to replace them, but then they might revert to blooming in the autumn!
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

can you post a photo? I don't know an Aster that flowers that early but somebody might recognise it

They’re about 15”x15”. The picture might be misleading. Can Aster alpinus get that big?
