Mysery plant/weed ID help

Hi.
This spring a large and spiky mystery weed has sprouted in one of our borders.  I've never seen it before and can't identify it based on internet searching.  The closest thing I've found is thorn apple but the leaves don't look right.  Does anyone know what this is?

    Acanthus Mollis with a flower stalk , been quite a bit of talk about Acanthus recently on the Forum.

    Hmmm. Interesting.  I wonder where it could have come from...and so quickly too!  No sign of it last year.

    I grew mine from seed three years ago, this is the first year they have a flower stalk.
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
