How to repair a pond liner that insists on rucking up?

I put a patch on my liner, which is held in place at the edge with large stones, by first pulling the liner flat and sticking the patch on: but the liner later bulged out where the repair was and the patch seems to have failed. Is there a way to keep the liner from bulging, or should I do the repair again on the bulge?

I've only had to repair a liner once. I did it without stretching what was there and it worked fine. Mind you, I paid about £30 for a tube of glue to do it (and that was ten years ago)!

What sort of glue did you use?

I'm afraid I can't remember - it was a long time ago. I went to a local pond place, decided they knew what they were talking about, and asked them what they recommended. It worked! I doubt that I still have the tube, but I'll look just in case.
