    Worm eggs.
How can you lie there and think of England

They may have different worms in USA 😉

  • Anyone know what these are please? Hundreds of them in some compost I bought, not cheap stuff either it's Miracle Grow!

Although this is a couple of years later… 2022… these yellow ‘balls’ are actually worm eggs. Depending on worm species they contain between one to eight or so baby worms. They are found in compost bags because worms form part of the composting process. Certainly some companies ‘add’ fertilisers but in this specific case.. they are worm eggs and your very best friend(s)…
Hello, I'm late to the game but thank you for this! I've recently found a bunch of these in my garden and I thought they were vine weevil eggs! Can I ask why they are your very best friend?

Worms are the best possible things you can have in your garden soil. You will never see vine weevil eggs.

Have you made sure you're comparing the photos correctly @julieamcleod92wESUGvoN?
If they're completely round little 'globes' they're food not worm eggs.
See @punkdoc's photo earlier in the thread for comparison with the original poster's pic.
As @Lyn says - worms are one of the most beneficial creatures in the soil, while vine weevil eggs are far too small to be seen by the naked eye.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
