Slugs. Usually tiny black ones. Try a slug pub with beer in nearby.

Thanks all - yes I suspected little slugs. I used Nemotodes earlier in the year but I put the pack in the fridge and I think it froze and the little mites died.
anyways i’ll try a beer-trap.

You’re supposed to keep them in the fridge, they stay dormant then.
