I really enjoy the reports from Kate’s garden.
Much more relatable than Monty’s and Adam’s gardens, lots of useful advice for wild life lovers. So much passion and charisma. I think she should have her own programme or at least be a regular on GW.
Silvester the hedgehog 🦔 - my hero 😊, Kate - a fresh relatable face.

Kate's garden is also my favourite part of the programme. I received her book  'The bumblebee flies anyway: A memoir of love, loss and muddy hands' which I loved!

That presenter on location really should do something about her speech. Difficult to listen to as sometimes she catches her breath right in the middle of a phrase.
She used to do voice over for documentaries and was absolutely fine, but her life programmes  are unbearable.

    (Just remembered her name: Gillian).

    "'The Bumblebee Flies Anyway".

Oddly there seem to be three separate books with this title. I will get Kate's one.

I'm going down to stay on the Knepp Estate in Sussex during July to see re-wilding projects up close. They were featured in Springwatch tonight. I can't wait to go. Among other things, they are nurturing the first storks to breed in the UK since 1416. This year is their first fledging year. Turtle doves, nightingales, peregrine falcons and purple emperor butterflies are also breeding there.

if you are interested in finding out more about the Knepp rewilding project.

After Chris P. encouraged people to complete the gardenwatch missions tonight, I noticed that the web page crashed as overloaded!
My garden and I live in South Wales.

They have been having a few glitches from the start.

I've done the Gardenwatch "Beyond the back door" survey and the "Worm detective" one.  Have tried to do the bird one but my PC can't seem to handle the connection to the BTO where you have to go to download the instructions.  I just get "This page cannot be displayed."  Anyone else having difficulty, or is it just me having a technophobe moment?

I have a few gripes about the Spring/autumn/winterwatch series.  I get very fed up with the presenters' banter and phony excitement and anthropomorphising the animals.  Please will someone explain to them the difference between a presenter and an entertainer.  Maybe sit them in front of boxsets of David Attenborough until they realise the programmes aren't about them.

Also, why is the emphasis so much on animals and not plants?  They are so interdependent, but this doesn't come through in the programmes.  Plants change and grow through the seasons just as much as animals.  Maybe they could make a parallel series showing how wild plants respond to the changing seasons.

They need the drama to draw people in and keep them interested - especially for inspiring children. It is breath-taking - watching the fledging.
