Gooseberry bush problem

Over the past two weeks or so I have noticed that the leaves  my gooseberry have turned purple and brown they just look like they have been scorched can anybody tell me what it could be please,I have been on the web,the nearest it came up with is Anthracnose fungus.

    You’re not the first to report this on here this spring, and I noticed at the weekend that my gooseberry bush also had some discoloured leaves. I’m putting it down to a very dry spring and have given it a couple of buckets of water and will give it some more tomorrow. I’ll continue to give it two buckets of water twice a week until I pick the fruit, unless we get a few really good downpours. I’m also watering my pear tree and broad beans ... the soil is quite dry. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
