Hawthorn: pink or white?

Some time in the not-too-distant, I am planning to plant a border with native hedgerow species, including hawthorn.  My mum is almost blind, but can distinguish blocks of colour, so I'm thinking of putting some pink-flowered hawthorn opposite her window.  Is there any difference in growth rate, hardiness or value to wildlife, compared to the more common white?

    I think the pink hawthorn is usually double flowered
    while the white can be single or double. Of course single flowers are usually of most value to wildlife. 😊

    Would your mum not distinguish the white one better?

    The deep pink one, "Paul's Scarlet", has lovely blossom but may not have much in the way of berries.

    Think that’s because it’s double so is unlikely to be pollinated.

    Thank you everyone.  I think I'll just have one pink and the rest white.
