Something has obviously had a nice dinner off my Magnolia! What is my best course of action, should I prune right back.

At first I thought it was just going dormant after flowering, then I noticed the lacy leaves. Any idea what could have been at work?

If you pick those leaves off. it should grow new ones back. Feed it and water well. I would not prune it.
