Rose bush disease and tips for healthier bushes.

I have several rose bushes in the front garden (south facing I believe) and I’m looking for care tips. What exactly are they and the main thing, some are not producing much growth and look to be infected. Could I have some advice on these and more pictures can be taken and put up if you need a closer look at anything.

That's mainly blackspot which affects most roses. They do look rather old roses as well and past their best. I would be inclined to dig them all up, improve the soil with manure and plant new bushes (not roses, as they won't grow very well in the same place). If you do want to keep them, pick off all the affected leaves, including any on the ground and bin (not compost) them. You could try spraying the bushes against blackspot but you have to do it regularly which gets expensive - it's also not good for bees. Blackspot is a fungal airborne disease which keeps coming back in our kind of climate and there's no real cure for it yet. More modern roses are being bred to be more resistant so if you like them, you could try again in 2-3 years time.
