Iris blooms

Hello! When my bearded iris bloom is over do I cut the bloom off or leave it? Tia

    I cut them off along with the stem as it saves energy for the rhizomes and foliage for a better display next year.

    Apart form anything else, they look better without a tatty ex flower head.

    I snap each flower off when it goes over, saves putting energy into seed making.
    Seems to be a very good year for them. I'm guessing last year's never-ending summer gave the rhizomes a good baking. I've got a large clump of White City just coming into flower - looks great

    They sound gorgeous! Mine are purple, they were actually a freebie from GW magazine!
