    I love seed heads and think the stand looks both useful and interesting, if not immediately attractive (though I'm sure in the flesh it probably looks better). Personally I would have displayed them more as botanical specimens - eg: against a dark background to highlight the individual forms, like an auricula theatre... but that's just my taste. What counts in the judging is how well they met their stated aim, the condition of the material etc. Preserving and transporting that lot must have  been quite difficult!

    Absolutely.  The first time mine did that I thought of Disney cartoons and fairy tales!
