Cheaper way to keep a pink hydrangea pink?

I'm using J Arthur Bowers colourant powder weekly but at £5 a tub it's working out too expensive. Any suggestions of an alternative gratefully received

    I assume you have acid soil where you live?  The only way if you have, is to keep it in a pot.

    What colour is it when you don't use the powder?
    Is it growing in a pot or in your garden?

    Usual advice for growing plants that aren't compatible with your soil type is to plant them in containers filled with the type of soil they do like.

    It was blue then turned pink when planted in the ground. Guess potting it is the answer. I honestly don't know what soil I have. Being on the coast in the south east I've got quite a lot of clay.

    If your clay is over chalk then it's likely to be alkaline, which would fit with the hydrangea turning pink when planted out. So, it really is down to pots if you want it blue. Sorry!
