8ft yucca

My yucca has been in the ground for over 10 years now. This is only the second year that it has produced what look like a solid stem of seeds. Should I 1. Cut out the stems. 2. Just leave it alone. I have attached a couple of pictures to highlight what is happening. Any suggestions wold be very welcome.

    That isn't a Yucca in any shape nor form ; it's Cordyline australis , the 'Cabbage Palm' (so-called and not a palm either) from the Antipodes .
    More closely related to Asparagus than the true palms .
    Flowering is normally awaited with a sense of high expectancy , only to be these somewhat dull spikes to be the crowning glory ; quite an anti-climax really .

    Many thanks everyone for the help with my not so yucca now cabbage palm. Well whatever its called I will let it carry on in it's own sweet way. BTW I have 3 of these in the garden and they are all thriving.

    There are several cultivars available ; green , variegated and purple forms .
    The only one I grow is the variegated 'Torbay Dazzler' ; reached around 15' high before the ferocious blast of 2009/10 converted it overnight into a pile of mush .
    The roots survived though , and its eventually attained  respectable proportions yet again .

    Yuccas have a big thin flower spike, leave the flowers on your plant, unless you don’t like them, then you can cut them off.  Your plant, your choice.
