Hostas

I have grown hostas for many yesrs i have a number of 3 year old cutyings that have what i could only describe as rossettes at tbe base of the plant its too early to flower and they normally come from the center of tbe plant are these new shoots as i have never come across this before

    Hi Pam 
    Not too sure on why there’s a rosette forming. I’ve never took cutting as I have normally propagated Hosta’s  by division in early spring once new growth appears.
    Hopefully someone else will be able to throw some light on your cuttings

    I cant see how you could do cuttings, have you a photo.

  • No I normally split them at the end of the season but in all the years I've grown them I've never had these growths before

    How do you do the cuttings though ?
