Acer leaf problem

Hi, I have three small acers in pots all growing against an east facing fence.  Two of them are lovely but the third went like this over the last two weeks.  Any ideas?  I thought early sun on frosted leaves but I'm in a sheltered spot in the South West and the nights haven't really been cold and the other two acers look lovely, no damage at all. Could it be fungal instead?

    Pretty sure that is the result of low temperature, or a cold easterly wind.

    You seem to have light-brown areas on the leaves. We have the same, but only as tiny patches and the tree is otherwise fine. Like @yorkshirerose I'd put it down to the recent cold snaps (I too am in the "mild" SW).
