Mouldy violas

Does anyone know if you can put mouldy violas in the compost heap? We've just been away for 3 weeks and as it rained the housesitter thought they had been watered, but they were bone dry and now they are mouldy. I usually put old bedding plants that were planted in pots into the compost but will these infect the compost?

    Compost is all about things getting mouldy and rotting. I would put them on the heap.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Into the compost heap, and you can put incompetent housesitters in too :D
    Just kidding, I am sure they did their best and everything else was fine.

    Thank you. Don't think the HS would fit in the compost bins! And he's nice.
