What ails my tomato plants?

The leaves are becoming discoloured, between the veins. Doesn't really match anything I can find online.

You might have noticed it's on the lower leaves, it happens sometimes when the leaves get wet and then sun scorches them . It will not harm the plant and new leaves will be fine. Looks like they are about ready to plant on, are you able to get them in a greenhouse or blow away? so they could go in their final spot? as it's a couple of weeks away from going outside.

Could it be Septoria leaf spot in the earliest stage? I found this https://ask.extension.org/questions/262161
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks both! Not sure it looks much like that @Busy-Lizzie . That's reassuring @purplerallim , someone else suggested it could be a virus. What do you mean by blow away? I could pot them on, but have no greenhouse and windowsills are a bit full, these are in a crate of plants that go outside in the day and under the dining table at night  :D

It's probably nothing to concern yourself about.
Maybe worth checking that it's not spider mites though (as they do leave tiny dots on leaves) - if you have a magnifying glass, look on the underside of the leaves. They're not really visible without magnification.

Little plastic greenhouse @bookmonster 🙂 they dont need much room but can take quite a bit of plants, you could even plant up your toms with canes in tubs and grow them there all summer.🙂
They are enough protection  from the cold when zipped up to let your plants go out now.

Thanks @purplerallim! I replaced mine with a coldframe when it died due to wind.

That's ok for small plants but when they get tall a cold frame isn't big enough.

I was also looking to see whether it's pest damage like spider mites or aphids but it seems to look more like a nutrient deficiency. Nutrients can get locked out if you use tap water instead of rain water but the plant might just need a bit of plant food. Not sure if you have been feeding it or not.

I did think that @mrtjforman , I might give them a feed tomorrow and see if they perk up.

That particular pattern of yellow mottling looks very like a virus that affected my toms last year, which started at the bottom and worked its way up. I picked off all the affected leaves and struggled on with them but the crop was not great. If its a deficiency its likely to be magnesium, but you would see more even, spreading areas of yellowing leaves in between the veins with that. Sometimes simple leaf scorch can resemble a virus...

If it starts to spread and affects new growth, then you might have something to be concerned about, but hopefully they will grow out of it, whatever ‘it’ is!
