Wildflower ID?

Anyone recognise this? Some sort of leguminous/vetch type is my nearest guess!

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

    I used to have indigofera (indigo) which looked very similar

    Looks like Medicago sativa ... grown by farmers as cattle fodder and known as Lucerne or alfalfa ... it’s naturalised all over the UK. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Hi, thanks both. Both look similar but don’t think its either, these flowers droop down a bit like kniphofia, but only on one side...

    How about Vicia cracca, Tufted Vetch?

    Have you tried it under latin name of Vicia. Lots of similar images  come up if you put purple and Vicia in a search engine. There are several similar looking things.

    Ah, thank you @Asarum thats the one! Both flower form and colour plus leaf are identical.
