Horrid infestation on my Philadelphus

    Thanks for all your feedback. This is a very tall woody shrub now, so unfortunately, I can't get to all of it with a soap solution - even spraying to the top was tough. 

    I do love the scent, but it is so high now that I hardly get to see the flowers and smell the scent. My neighbours are benefiting more than I am!

    I'm thinking of getting rid of it (big job) and slotting in a mature Camellia in that area. 

    Thing is, I don't remember so many aphids in the past. Only in the past few years.
