Names!

Looking for help in identifying these two plants, the first one I planted last and have lost the label and the second one just appeared because I never planted it !

Is the first one prickly? It looks like a teasel.

The first one is a teasel ... seeds loved by goldfinches.

The second looks like Hesperis matronalis aka sweet rocket ... gorgeous perfume on warm evenings. Great for pollinators

  • Yeah that’s makes sense for the first one which is prickly , any idea how tall it gets, and now you mention about the second one I did have them in the garden but not in that spot ! Thankyou both that was very helpful.

The teasels get to about 6’ here.

  • That’s some height, I’ve planted it near a fence so it will be okay. Thanks
