Plant ID

Hi .... can someone please id this plant. It is about 2' tall (at the moment) and grows in a really compact manner with the side shoots tight against the main stem (which is hairy). It doesn't grow like a nettle and the leaves have a distinct shape. I thank you in advance.

Do you know if it flowers @petehaskell ? I'm wondering if it could be a type of lamium .

    Hiya AnniD
thanks for the reply.  The lady who asked me to id the plant says it has a white flower

Could be the white dead nettle, lamium album perhaps.

having thought about it ..... the growth habit is nothing like a nettle. It is so tight and compact 🤔

Do you mean in the little plant you have in the pic, Peter?
They do start off like that, and gradually open out a bit more.
I'd agree with the others that it's one of the lamiums [aka deadnettle] The yellow ones are in abundance round here just now.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
