Artificial flowers

So in my front garden, I've got some sporadic daylilies, and then lots of bare spots in between.
I've been low on money lately but I had a huge tote full of artificial flowers my grandma gave me. So I filled in the bare spots with them.

Is there any shame in this? I honestly think it looks pretty good, and its giving a jump start to a colorful spring garden!

It’s  your garden ... if you’re happy with it then that’s all that should matter.

You probably should be aware tho that many people will see that they’re not real, as they’ll have the wrong foliage or growth habit, or are blooming out of season ... but it’s your garden and what looks good to you is what’s important.

If you want to get some real flowers growing I’d buy some Nasturtium seeds ... they come in varying shades of orange, apricot and cream.   Just push the seeds about an inch below the soil with your finger, about 10” apart, and water them. That’s all you have to do they don’t need any complicated care at all 😊

A friend had some artificial flowers (think they were alliums or agapanthus) artfully dotted in amongst the shrubs, it actually looked pretty good and was fairly convincing. Until winter!

  • I dont think I'll keep them past Fall, I'd be pretty tacky to leave them there during winter! For now though, they're giving my garden some life until I can put something else in there once I have a little extra cash.

I actually thought about planting Foxglove or maybe Morning Glory in there.
