Does anyone have any tips to encourage flowering on a lilac bush? I rarely get any flowers on mine, none for the last two years. I haven't pruned it, so I haven't accidentally cut off the buds.
Its fairly sunny, faces south-east and I think the soil is neutral/chalky. It's so frustrating, lots of houses in the surrounding roads have them, and even the puny looking ones are flowering! My friend round the corner, who does nothing special to hers has loads of flowers
