Phormium

I've moved some large phormiums this spring and they are looking really sick very brown. Should I cut the fronds right back or leave them ? Have moved phormiums before with no problems

    Wielding a pair of exceptionally sharp shears , remove all foliage to ground level .
    Phormiums soon recover from this seemingly brutal treatment provided you keep the roots moist at all times until new growth appears .
