    I rather like the idea of tackling the weeds with a (Joe) Strummer :) but am also fond of the Aussie name for it - whipper-snipper. Whatever you call yours, thats what I have started using to lop off the weeds between my beds and actually found it more effective than a hoe.

    Unfortunately, I seem to have more bad lurkers than good just now, but its a newish veg plot and garden and the baddies always seen to get there first. Ladybirds are gradually coming but the birds are far too wary of our two patrolling cats to get anywhere near.
