Disease

My name is Steve can someone tell me what this is, last year it was all over my pear tree and had no buds,flowers or fruit.   Thank you

    To me that looks more like damage rather than disease. 

    Did the tree produce blossom this spring?

    Can we see a photo of the whole tree please, and can you tell us more about it ... where you are/how old the tree is/ where it’s growing, how it’s performed in the past, etc. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    The problem is that after a couple of days without a post a query can disappear into the ‘back pages’

    Very easily gets lost. You can scroll  back 6 or 7 pages easily just for posts for one day. 
    I rarely look beyond a few pages, unless there's a reason, so I could regularly miss quite a lot of queries.
    Unfortunately, I can't help Steve with his query, other than to say the same as Dove.
    A bigger pic would certainly help, but it does look weather related.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
