Good job done, it looks very healthy. :)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Two month on.
    Height 27.5cm at 31.08.19

An expected slight difference in appearence after living outside for almost 2 weeks, but no problems.

Next photo update end of October.

Only 1cm of growth since last post two months ago. Understandable with the decreasing temperatures.

Next photo & update in the spring.

I brought my peach tree in about a month ago, just in the GH, it’s died😢 it was about 6” tall, perhaps it should have come indoors.

  • I feel your disappointment Lynn.  How old was it-since germination ?

I have 5 young plumbs in total from this year's efforts. 2, possibly 3 will be remaining in the house. Two of these were already acclimatised to the outdoor elements since before Autumn began. I suppose the shock effect of early frosts is something that can be a problem.

Depending on how severe the frost predictions are, the two recently acclimatised plumbs may have a day or too in the garage by a window, being the first year etc.

It was only this year’s seed so not very old, I thought it would be ok for now in GH then bring it in for the winter. Never mind can do another, may try a nectarine I think they’re a bit tougher than peach.

  • Don''t perceive it as a failure or a loss. It is still an achiement because you gained experience. No one can give you that.  👍

@YC @Lyn - have either of you tried germinating apricot stones? I've a couple of dozen fridged and I've bookmarked this thread for future use ...
  • I have not attempted apricots. Not keen on the fruit, but may have a go at some point. Have you tried yet?
